Initially I wanted to try and power a normal light bulb with batteries, but it was quite complicated and I could not figure it out so I changed my plan. With the light bulbs I bought, I broke all the glass components in the bulb and emptied it out and then stuffed it with battery powered fairy lights. It worked out quite well. I just need to rewire the components because the battery pack that is attached to the light is quite bulky and does not fit with my design. I will replace it with a button battery and the switch with a nicer one which would look good exposed.
