With the line, plane and foam models, figure-ground relationship was explored, in which the framing of a shape was focused on without there being a physical existence of it in the model itself. For example with the foam model, as much mass as possible was removed from a solid cube while still ensuring that the form can still be inferred despite the absence of physical structures of a typical 3-dimensional square. Throughout the three models, a sense of minimalism was also focused on, eliminating any clutter and concentrating on clean planes and lines.
